Funds raised to build a second classroom at École Communautaire Sainte-Anne-du-Lac in Sô-Ava, Benin

Last April 10th, Papillon MDC, along with Umalia, NTD Apparel and other corporate partners and invested individuals gathered forces to raise funds to build a second classroom at the École Communautaire Sainte-Anne-du-Lac in Sô-Ava, Benin, West Africa. A film viewing and silent auction held during the Vues d’Afrique International Festival raised over $13,645!

The film, produced by an aspiring film student and volunteer followed the journey of 5 young students who travelled to Sô-Ava to build a library, marking the beginning of an adventure with a community committed to education and sustainability for their children and the future of their land.

Construction of the second classroom will begin this summer with the objective to welcome a cohort of 25 students when classes resume. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all who have contributed to this cause, in various ways, through the silent auction, our Lunch & Learns, E-Learning courses and inspirational stickers. Together, we are making a REAL impact in a community and a REAL difference to children who now have a place to learn and thrive.
